Henry Amsterdam is the fictional host of the website HenryAmsterdam.com (this website). The owner of the website, author J.J. Onnekes, first established Henry Amsterdam as a persona to use for his blogs. However, since his first appearance in 2020, Henry quickly became a recognized figure of the internet-community. The name Henry Amsterdam went viral and because of his success Henry became the website’s new sole owner. This is the reason why, nowadays, the website bears his name rather than of the author.

Although Henry Amsterdam is currently widely known and mentioned in daily conversation on every continent on the planet (including Antarctica), we actually still know very little about who Henry Amsterdam is. Sometimes he proliferates himself as Bukowski’s barfly yet on other days he takes on the appearance of a very Zen yogi. It is also very hard to draw any conclusions as to what Henry’s political and cultural affiliation is. Whenever it appears as if he has a particular stance on a certain important topic, he completely changes it for the next article and discards his first opinion as the rust of antiquity. Needless to say, the true nature of Henry’s character leaves much room for speculation.
